Who We Are...

AMASE, Academy of Music and Arts for Special Education, is a nonprofit organization that provides enriching education through programs in both music and the arts for special needs children. We warmly welcome individuals and families from all ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds.

How We Began

AMASE first started as a prayer group composed of Christian musicians who realized that they could use their individual talents to help those who otherwise struggle with self-expression express themselves through music. The Beautiful Mind Ensemble, a chamber music group of teaching professionals, was formed in 2006 to teach music to children with special needs and hold benefit concerts to support the program. The following year saw an influx of volunteers to provide one-on-one and small group attention for the students, and so the student & volunteer group Harmony of Hearts Ensemble was also created. In 2010, art teachers also motivated to give special needs children a way to express themselves joined to form Beautiful Mind Art in order to teach students self-expression through various art mediums. Today, all of these programs are united in AMASE. We invite you to come, enjoy, participate, contribute and otherwise AMASE yourself with what you can do!
